Long regarded as one of America's most gifted writers, Wright Morris authored over thirty-three books. He was born in Central City, Nebraska, on 6 January 1910. His novel, A Field of Vision, won the National Book Award in 1957, and Plains Song won the 1981 American Book Award for Fiction. Josephine "Jo" Mary Rossler Morris was born on November 21, 1928, to Kylah C. Golding Rossler and Joseph A. Rossler. She was married to Paul Kantor, with whom she shared an interest in art collecting. Morris divorced Paul Kantor in 1958. She later married author Wright Morris.
